MOSCOW A government delegation led by PM Ivica Dacic and Deputy President of Russia's VTB Bank Vasily Titov have discussed the setting up of a joint investment fund. Russia, Serbia discuss joint investment fund The joint investment fund could help the two countries' exchange increase, especially in agriculture, the Serbian prime minister said and added that the talks should continue in Belgrade in a few weeks. Dacic said that he discussed the greater engagement of Russian banks in the territory of Serbia with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. Putin promised that he would grant import of small contingents of Fiat's vehicles assembled in Serbia, Dacic noted. He added that Russia has no economic interest in importing Fiat vehicles from Serbia without customs duties and added that the import of small contingents is a result of privileged partnership. According to him, the first contingent of exports to Russia could cover 1,000 Fiat 500 L vehicles produced at the Kragujevac factory, in central Serbia. In case of an agreement, Dacic said, Russia would win the right to export certain Russian products to Serbia under the same conditions. The delegation of the Serbian government completed its visit to Moscow where it conferred with Russia's top officials and signed seven bilateral agreements, including the agreement on the loan of assistance for the Serbian budget worth USD 500 million. Serbian Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic voiced hope that the Russian state leadership will support the Serbian government's proposal and approve quotas for tax-free car exports from Serbia to Russia, so that the model could be more competitive on the Russian market, and have a greater appeal for buyers there. During the promotion, it was underlined that Fiat 500L is among Serbia's leading export products given that two-thirds of its parts are already produced in factories in Serbia. Moreover, the global demand for this vehicle is quite good, which contributes to a continuing rise in production and job creation in Kragujevac.
