BELGRADE NIS Director General Kirill Kravchenko signed Monday agreements with ten municipalities and cities in on cooperation in realization of projects. The agreements with NIS were signed by representatives of Novi Sad, Nis, Pancevo, Zrenjanin, Kikinda, Novi Becej, Zitiste, Kanjiza, Srbobran and Cacak. NIS signs agreements with 10 cities, municipalities Owing to the agreements totaling around RSD 90 million, these cities and municipalities will be able to independently apply for the NIS financial support for projects in the areas of sport, culture, environmental protection, science and assistance to socially vulnerable groups. After the signing ceremony, Kravchenko told reporters that the funds will be distributed based on a public competition, and the citizens will be able to propose projects which they believe should be realized in their surrounding. The NIS director said that the amount of NIS funds will be at the same level as last year in spite of the economic crisis. NIS - Naftna Industrija Srbije (Oil Industry of Serbia) - is Serbia's formerly state-owned oil monopoly that was in 2010 acquired by Russia's Gazprom Neft. (Tanjug) Tanjug
